"Who's house", was the battle cry heard throughout the tunnels of Wilkes-Barre Memorial Stadium. The girls and boys teams took it to the Grenadiers in an emotional track and field meet.
It's always a good victory and a season is seen as being generally successful when the Mohawks beat GAR. Girls have done it the last 2 years but for the boys this, is their first time since Coach T has been here.
The girls won 14 of the 18 events in their second consecutive overwhelming victory. The boys won 10 of the 18 but the meet was won by everyone who obtained a second or a third place finish.
Holy Redeemer comes to town next week and the Jim Cross Invitational is May 8th. Let's keep improving, Mohawks!
Steadfast Forever,
Coach T.

Meet Day v Hanover
Meyers boys and girls teams represented their school very well in a losing effort against Hanover. Girls lose a close one, 78-68 and the boys lose 88-61. Both scores are tremendous improvements in the last time the Hawkeyes came to town (46-110 girls 47-102 boys).
Girls had a shot to win it at the end due to 9 clutch first place finishes (Ward 3, Quinones 2, Lewis 1, Wolsieffer 1, Mahalak 1, McGrane 1) but Hanover proved to be a strong opponent.
Boys endured a few mental mistakes and 11 first place Hanover finishes to keep the meet close. Personal best times were run by Proctor (100), M. Snyder (mile) and Sharksnas (400).
The Mohawks travel to Lake Lehman on April 13 to try to get a notch in the win column.

Fitness Tips
Drink pickle and pineapple juices. The salt and vinegar in pickle juice can help muscles recover from sodium loss and decrease cramping. "If you're training on a hot day or doing intense activities, drink four to eight ounces of pickle juice 45 minutes and eight to 10 ounces of water 30 minutes before your session," says certified nutritionist and fitness trainer Majid Ali of the Healing Center in Culver City, Calif. "If your stomach can handle it, drink four to six ounces after or during your session to speed recovery." Pineapple juice can also reduce post-workout inflammation. "The bromelain [an enzyme] in pineapple juice removes lactic acid buildup in the muscles, which causes inflammation," he says. Ali recommends drinking six to 10 ounces, 30 minutes after training.
